October 14, 2008: Played around Denver proper today. Visited a friend-of-a-friend’s house/art studio space in the newly-coined RINO district (River North Art District). Picture of me sitting at his bar straight out of the “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” set. Sans drugs and, sadly, Johnny Depp. He also has a panoramic view of downtown Denver from the tower of his house. It doesn’t suck. Check out his deal here: http://www.weilworks.com/
From there I drove to Larimer Square, parked, grabbed a coffee at The Market and walked up 16th, a pedestrian-only shopping street. I ended at the capitol building, swung by the Denver Art Museum and then took a free bus back to Larimer Square. Spent from being tourist Pance, I landed at a bar, ordered a Breckenridge Autumn beer (must appear as if local) and wrote a bunch of postcards. Denver, I approve. Though you are a little cold, thank goodness for cheapo stretchy gloves.
