October 25, 2008: Here I sit, on the floor of my upgraded room at the dude ranch, a little tipsy on Going-to-the-Sun IPAs and dinner with a cowboy. Today, by far, the perfect end to a most spectacular journey. I rode a total of 4 hours today, all with Wrangler Heath – an upstanding gentleman who hails from Tennesee and who’s found a home in Montana for the time bein’. He has a photographer’s eye, much to my benefit. Note: I’m still on Blue Duck, fine connoisseur of trailside snacks.
Both rides today are riddled with Tamaracks, the pine tree that actually turns yellow in Autumn and loses its needles. This is a new, yet striking, scene for me.
