…be sure to wear some big heavy coats and scarves.
Yesterday Ann and I packed in a full day, mostly on foot, of city sights and quintessential must-dos. We started with a walk up to Coit Tower, then headed down to Ghirardelli Square and Irish Coffees at the establishment that claims to have invented them. Next was a Trolley Car ride (ding ding!) and then an unplanned walk through a not-so-nice part of town on our way to Haight Street and Golden Gate Park.
We ended the [long] day with a pretty rad night tour of Alcatraz and then drinks at a trendy prohibition-era bar that required a password (“Books”) when we rung the doorbell.
Overall? I’m ready to leave. The city is dreary and, frankly, just as hectic-feeling as NYC. I can’t wait to get under some sunshine again.
